VGR receives New Engine

D3 619 has arrived at its new home on the VGR after spending many years in various places around Bendigo. D3 619 was moved to Maldon by road along with a Louvre Van (VZVA 247) on Thursday 5th January 2012

Maldon Station Rebuilt Complete!!!

On Thursday 30th June the VGR was handed the keys to the completed Maldon Station Rebuild Project. This tremendous accomplishment comes just over 20 months after the tragic fire during the late hours of Tuesday 20th October 2009 that destroyed the Historic Maldon Station Building.

The VGR wishes to pay a special tribute to Victrack, especially Heritage Manager Mike Ryan and Project Manager Denis Cronin, as well as Architect Fraser Brown and the wonderful team from Castlemaine based builders Vic Restorations who have all contributed to the high standard of work that the station presents.

Castlemaine Carriage Shed Update:-

On Tuesday 28th June the VGR was handed the keys to the thus far completed carriage sheds at Castlemaine.

The sheds still require doors (with instillation expected in the coming weeks), track work, accompanying necessary point work and signalling arrangements. Donations towards electrical and mains water connections in the new shed would be greatly appreciated. The impressive structure has found its place comfortably into Castlemaine yard, and will prove an invaluable asset to the VGR in it's future developments.

CMR Safety Management System:

The CMR's Safety Management System has been adopted in recent times with it having many aims including the aim to bring the CMR's safety performance and handling of issues up to current day Standards.
