J515 returns to Seymour and Veteran Carriage Set transferred to the VGR -

J515 - After 9 years on the VGR J515 returned by rail to the Seymour Rail Heritage Centre (SHRC). On loan from the SRHC J515 performed valuable service on the VGR from the time of its arrival in December 2006.

Veteran Carriage Set - The Veteran Carriage Set of 6 wheel carriages YZ9, Y309 & X40, transistion vehicles ZD611 and HD74 which had been in storage at the SHRC were transferred to the VGR for ongoing undercover storage and limited special event use.

Transfer Train - Espree Railroad Services operated the rolling stock transfer train from Seymour to Castlemaine and return via Toolamba and Echuca on behalf of the SHRC. The transfer train left Seymour on the evening of Thursday 22nd Jan. worked by T357 and T378 with a consist of sleeper carriage Mitta Mitta, cattle wagon M815, transistion vehicle HD74, 6 wheel carriages YZ69, Y309 & X40 and transistion vehicle ZD611. After changing direction at Echuca, the train arrived at Castlemaine about 4am on Friday 23rd Jan. J515 had been transferred from Maldon by Y133 the previous afternoon. After shunting had been completed in the VGR yard the train consisted of the T class locos, J515 and Mitta Mitta; this departed for Bendigo about 5.20am. The transfer train returned to Seymour in the early hours of Saturday 24th Jan. M815 was included in the tranfer destined for the Daylesford Spa Country Railway.
