February Shutdown - February traditionally produces low visitor numbers for the VGR. To allow the undertaking of a number of important works it was decided to not run trains during February. Works undertaken included:

| Maldon Cleanup - A large cleanup of Maldon Yard was undertaken, this also involved a large rolling stock movement of off tracked goods vehicles stored in Maldon to Castlemaine Yard, the transfer train was hauled by Y133 and the driver experience train was attached for extra braking. | |||

Steam Trains for Kids - A successful event was held with the main focus being shifted from Maldon to Muckleford. | ||
| New Maldon Toilets and Salesroom. - Work Started on the extension of Maldon station which would house the toilets (Male, Female & Disabled) as well as a large Sales area. | |||

3rd Muckleford - after an intense effort over the long weekend three road saw its first ever train, in the form of a ballast train consisting of Y133 the two QN ballast hoppers and the ballast plough. | ||
