Signals Group Castlemaine clean-up day - Y133 operated a goods into Castlemaine for the Signals Group clean-up workday. Included in the consist were a number of goods vehicles used in the driver experience goods set - these were turned on the turntable. Photos at Castlemaine and Muckleford.

21st Anniversary of VGR trains. - the Board of the CMRPS invited members and friends to join in a celebration at Maldon Station. After a few brief speeches and the cutting of a 21st anniversary cake; members, family and friends travelled on the 2.00pm train to Castlemaine and return. Included in the consist of this train were Tambo and Lowanna. Members were able to experience the First Class travel package prior to its public launch on the lst April.

New 1st Class Service introduced - A new style of First Class Travel commenced on the VGR. The superbly restored carriages Tambo and Lowanna became part of the consist of Sunday Trains. This 1st class fare incorporates luxury travel with a complimentary drink served as you travel. A kitchen facility in Lowanna is used to provide waiter service for alcohol and soft drinks, tea, coffee and accompanying light refreshments during the course of each trip. Tambo and Lowanna are available for charter and group bookings. Tambo and Lowanna are privately owned cars, on lease to the VGR.

Steam On Show - following on from the tradition of the earlier Steam Freight events, the VGR put on an ambitious programme of train running over the full length of the VGR line. On Saturday many trains were run, with a wide variety of engine / train combinations, double heading, steam banking and much more. Steamrail Victoria operated a special R class hauled special from Melbourne, with passengers changing for the Maldon Line at Castlemaine. Sunday continued the Steam on Show with trains running to the normal Sunday timetable with each train double-headed by Steam. A rake of goods trucks supplemented the passenger cars all day as K160 and J515 took turns leading the trains between Maldon and Castlemaine. Steam On Show 2007

J541 arrives at Maldon- Oil burning J541 arrived at Maldon by road transport. J541 had undergone restoration at the Puffing Billy Museum Site at Menzies Creek. J541 Gallery

J549 back on its wheels - while cranes were on site for the arrival of J541, the opportunity was taken to lift J549 back onto its wheels. J549 Gallery

J541 road tests - Thursday 28th saw J541 undergo its first test run. After a light engine run, it took a short goods train through to Castlemaine and return. Saturday 30th saw the loco undergo a load test of empty passenger and goods stock from Muckleford to Castlemaine and return. J541 Gallery
