Y 127 arrives at Castlemaine - Seven-O-Seven Operations Inc. Y 127 arrives at Castlemaine. The loco is on lease to the VGR as back-up motive power for those occasions when a steam loco is unavailable, including Total Fire Ban days. At the time of Y 127's arrival, only K160 is in traffic, with J 549's return awaiting the fitting of new tyres. The transfer from Melbourne was hastened by the 17th Jan closure date for the main line between Sunbury and Bendigo as part of the Fast Train works. Y 127 was transferred from Melbourne on a special SSR train consisting of three T class locomotives (377,363,369) as motive power, with the load of S300, B65, B80 & S311 (these un-powered), sleeper and ballast wagons, with Y127 at the rear. The B's & S's were being transferred to Bendigo for repair works. Y 127 was driven under its own power to Thompson's Siding where it was stabled pending transfer to Maldon.
