Removal of Wheels and Tyres.

Maldon Loco. - The engine has been lifted from its wheels by three mobile cranes and will be set down on stands. The wheels sets are to be sent away for fitting of new tyres. The "Jeremy" name plate is the engine's name during the 'Friends of Thomas' weekends.

The tyre is cut with the oxy torch, during the process to remove the tyre from the wheel. Following tests for any cracks, etc, new tyres will be fitted to the driving and pony truck wheels at the Puffing Billy Workshops.
