PASSENGER CAR - TAMBO
On the 28th of May, 2004, ex Victorian & South Australian Railways joint stock sleeper car 'Tambo' arrived at Maldon. The car had been at the West Coast Railway depot at Ballarat.
At some time prior to purchase a number of the sleeping compartments had been stripped out. The owner has contracted alterations and restoration work to be undertaken at Maldon prior to the car being leased by the VGR. Several of the remaining sleeping compartments are to be refurbished, an area of the vehicle will be opened into a 'saloon area' and an observation platform created at one end of the car.
